Western Digital Essential NetCenter Network Hard Drive


western digital netcenterWestern Digital enters the personal NAS (network attached storage) market with its WD Essential NetCenter Network Hard Drive product line. The initial offering, which Trusted Reviews has just finished reviewing (via DMT), comes in 7,200RPM 160/250/320GB capacities with 8MB cache buffer and ranges in price from $249 – $399. As would expect the NetCenter comes with a simple PC setup wizard (EazyLink utility), connects to the network via 10/100Base-T Ethernet, is platform independent, offers a browser management interface, and provides tools for folder password protection and PC file backup.
