Although portable media players (PMP) currently have failed to become mainstream CE devices, trends in next-gen PMPs look promising. Take for instance the new BestaPro DMP-1 from Korea (via DAPreview – view photo gallery). It looks like a PDA, functions like a PDA, and offers a electronic dictionary and encyclopedia, but wait… it’s actually a full-blown media player first and a productivity tool second. The innovative folks at BestaPro have ingeniously integrated various media options: 1.3MP digital camera, digital camcorder, FM radio, flip-up display screen, MIDI composition, TV out, voice recording, media player, and even a USB host option to easily offload media content to other devices.
