MCE Firewire Set-Top Box Channel Changing Hack

mce remoteDeveloper’s who are apart of the TGB community never cease to amaze me. It looks like member Tim Moore figured out a way to forgo using an IR baster to control a set-top box using his MCE PC via Firewire (via The Nears). Tim writes, “I have 2 DCT-6200 connected to a MCE2005 system. The attached zip file contains a readme and a bunch of files that allow media center to use the firewire to change channel. I no longer use the IR blaster and find channel changing much more reliable.”
