DualDisc Music Now in Stock at Major Retailers

dualdisc graphicI just came back from my local Tower Records music store, here in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they started stocking DualDisc music/video disks. Although the selection is quite limited, it’s exciting to see these hybrid CD/DVD disks on the shelves. But what’s even better is that these disks are selling for about the same price as a standard music CD.

So what, you may be asking, is on the DVD side? According to DualDisc’s FAQ: One side is the full-length CD audio album. The other side offers DVD content. This may include enhanced album audio, 5.1 surround sound, music videos, artist interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, documentary films, photo galleries, lyrics, computer-ready digital song files, and Web links. It all depends on the artist.
