Logitech Harmony 880 Universal Remote

logitech harmony 880Logitech has added another model to their popular (and pricey) Universal Remote line, the Harmony 880. The 880 stands out from its predecessors because of the inclusion of a programmable color LCD that can display up to 8 devices or commands simultaneously. Existing Harmony features such as displaying TV listings on the remote are still included, as is a massive library of supported devices.

Although the 880 is capable of IR learning for new devices, chances are you’ll never have to bother. The Harmony is USB-enabled and configurable through a simple web-based interface – adding a new device is as simple as browsing to a webpage. Users can also upload their own configuration profiles for new devices Logitech hasn’t added yet.

The 880 features a Lithium-ion battery that lasts for up to a week of normal usage and comes with a horizontal docking station for recharging. Logitech describes the device as being “optimized for HDTV and PVR systems” and includes Logitech’s SmartState technology which can track and control up to 15 separate devices at once. The Harmony 880 will be arriving in stores sometimes in April with an MSRP of $249.95.
