LTB Preparing to Release FreeZone Line of 802.11 Wi-Fi Headphones


ltb headphonesLTB Audio Systems, known for it’s true 5.1 Headphone systems, has announced that they are getting set to unveil one of the industry’s first 802.11 Wi-Fi Headphones this May at the upcoming E3expo in Los Angeles. “These headphones will produce crystal clear digital sound without wires from any 802.11 device with an audio source.” said Tony Tong, LTB’s New Product Manager. And with a $99 suggested retail price for the entry level LTB FreeZone headphone, and two 5.1 true surround sound models in the works for later this year, LTB will be offering a convenient and economical way to listen to your favorite music anywhere in or outside of the house.

    Now this is something to watch . . . I’ve seriously looked at getting wireless headphones a few times, but most models have their glitches. Amphony’s actually got rave reviews, though they were bulky, and some could be found for sub-$200. If these can deliver it would be fantastic.

    I wonder how the Wi-Fi aspect of it works . . . from what they say you couldn’t use a regular stereo . . . but is it really using the network or just the same band?
