MirraGuard Data Protection Guarantee Introduced – Pays Up to $1,000 for Data Recovery
Mirra, Inc., manufacturer of digital content protection products for the small and home office, today introduced the industry’s first data guarantee program, the MirraGuard™ Data Protection Guarantee. The three-year protection guarantee is Mirra’s latest follow-through on its belief that for multiple networked PCs, a Mirra Personal Server is the best way to avert digital disaster.
The MirraGuard™ Data Protection Guarantee is included at no additional cost to registered owners of Mirra Personal Servers. The guarantee provides a level of protection against data loss from a hard disk crash on one of the user’s personal computers. The unique architecture of the Mirra backup system provides an easy way to recover lost data. In the event of a PC drive failure, Mirra owners can easily migrate precious data from their Mirra Personal Server to a new PC drive without technical expertise. If the owner is not able to recover their data, the MirraGuard™ Data Protection Guarantee helps them in three ways:
1) In the event of a PC drive failure, and any difficulty the owner has using Mirra’s built-in tools to migrate their data from the Personal Server to a new PC drive, Mirra will provide three years of toll-free technical phone support to assist in the data restoration process.
2) If the over-the-phone restoration assistance fails, Mirra will pay for shipment of the Personal Server to and from Mirra headquarters, extract the backed-up data from the Mirra hard drive, place it on CD or DVD-ROM disc(s) and send it back to the owner.
3) If extraction of the data by Mirra personnel fails, Mirra will pay up to $1,000 for a third-party disk recovery service to extract backed-up data from the Mirra hard drive, place it on CD or DVD-ROM disc(s) and send it back to the owner.
“Mirra, Inc. was founded to build products that protect digital content,” said Richard Mandeberg, Mirra’s CEO. “It’s time that someone in the industry became an advocate for creators of digital content and not just a provider of technology.”
Statistics from The NPD TECHWORLD’s latest study on home networking singled out the need for reliable backup solution as the No. 1 priority. In fact, according to the study, more than 39 percent of current home network owners and nearly 48 percent of those planning to purchase a home network said automatic backup of content is a must-have feature for protecting their digital content in the event of a failure.
The MirraGuard™ Data Protection Guarantee will be offered to current owners of Mirra Personal Servers who are registered and who are running the 2.0 version software. Other terms, exclusions and limitations may apply. For guarantee details, visit Mirra.com.
Chris Shipley, the executive producer of the DEMO@15! conference and a leading technology analyst, said, “By standing behind its product with this data protection guarantee, Mirra is giving its customers the confidence and comfort of knowing that their digital assets are well protected.”
Mirra eliminates the complexity of managing valuable documents and digital photos across multiple PCs by integrating PC software, Web services, and an intelligent “always-on” network appliance into the only all-in-one solution that’s affordable and easy to use. The Mirra Personal Server provides automatic and continuous backup of data from networked PCs, free secure online remote access and file sharing, and file synchronization between networked PCs. It’s an easy-to-use data protection and collaboration tool that provides peace of mind in knowing your precious data is “mirrored” in at least two locations. The Mirra Personal Server line is available in 80GB, 120GB and 250GB versions ranging in price from $349 to $749.
