Maxtor Shared Storage Drive

maxtor shared storage driveMaxtor, who is best known for producing reliable high-capacity external hard drives, has finally read the writing on the wall and developed a network attached storage (NAS) server. True to form, the Maxtor Shared Storage Drive is everything users have come to expect, but now they can easily configure each networked computer in their home, via the Maxtor Quick Start CD, allowing them easily access to shared files with a single click.

Maxtor also claims that “organizing documents on the drive is also a breeze. Users drag their files into their special PC desktop icon where the Maxtor exclusive Drag and Sort™ feature automatically copies the files, sorts them based on file type and places them into specific music, photo, video or data folders on the Shared Storage Drive.” Access premission can also be set, via a Web browser interface, to make folders public on the private.
