My Movies – MCE 2005 DVD Indexing Plug-In

Got Movies? The creator of the “My DVD Collection” plug-in for Windows Media Center Edition 2004 has just released an updated version for MCE 2005 called “My Movies.” At first glance My Movies looks to be a winner. Similar to what you can do with the $27,000 Kaleidescape server, the plug-in allows users to index their online and offline DVD movie collection and browse items by titles, actors, directors, or genres including cover art and image extras.
In addition, since this plug-in integrates seamlessly into MCE 2005′s SDK, Windows Media Extenders can tap into the My Movies’ UI and let users in other rooms throughout the house access movies from a central, networked Media Center PC (sharing and distributing DVD movies can’t get any easier than that). And to top it all off, My Movies, like its predessor My DVD Collection, is still a freeware application. However, we highly encourage users to make a PayPal donation to support the developer’s efforts in bring out such a great product.
