Media Center Developers Lovin’ Hauppauge MediaMVP
We’ve been getting wind that many open-source developers have been embracing the Hauppauge MediaMVP as the media adapter of choice for use with 3rd party applications like SageTV (BTW ver. 2.1 has just been released), GB-PVR, MythTV, ReplayTV, and others. A Sourceforge project called MediaMVP Media Center has even been created to develop player libraries to further the platform for use with other software applications and devices. So if you’ve been eyeing a Windows Media Center PC, but can’t stand the idea of buying another product from Microsoft, checkout your options and find comfort in the fact that a simple sub-$100 media adapter can be used with many of these alternative platforms.

Hacked MediaMVP SageTV Plugin [streams.ch]:
Developer notes: MVP Client for SageTV is a free plugin for SageTV. It allows a Hauppauge MediaMVP device to be used as frontend for SageTV. Support for features like On-Screen-Display (OSD), Audio and Video is close to that supported by the normal SageTV Client. Exceptions are mostly due to restrictions imposed by the MediaMVP (see Known Issues for details).
