Vivadi Saturn 46-inch Media Centric Plasma TV
That’s right, if you can’t bring the Media Center PC into the living room, then just buy a plasma display with Media Center-like functionality built in. That’s what Vivadi, a start-up company based in Swindon UK, is trying to do. Vivadi has designed and developed a fully integrated 46-inch Plasma TV that combines a Media Gateway DVD recorder, Personal Video Recorder, and Music Server together with a powerful Dolby surround sound system creating what they call the “world’s first fully integrated, convergence home cinema TV.” They also claim that the system can be upgraded and “future-proof,” but really? I mean, you shell out more money to upgrade, which makes it sometimes cheaper to just replace the whole thing. Anyways, the Vivadi Saturn and Venus Plasma TVs will be available in the U.K. this Fall — U.S. market availability TBD.
