D-Link i2eye DVC-2000 Broadband VideoPhone

D-Link i2eye DVC-2000 Broadband VideoPhoneD-Link is getting set to release the brand new i2eye DVC-2000 Broadband VideoPhone. The phone works like any other phone, but is also able to handle video calls via Ethernet without the need of a PC, TV, or webcam. The DVC-2000 features a built-in webcam and an adjustable 5-inch color LCD that can stream smooth, high quality video at 30 fames per second. What’s more, the DVC-2000 can optionally be connected to a television for enhanced viewing and listening.

Unfortunately, if you want to take advantage of the video conferencing feature (the whole reason you would want to buy this phone), the person on the other end also has to have a DVC-2000 or an H.323 compliant hardware or software product like Microsoft’s NetMeeting to communicate. On the brightside, however, if both parties own the phone, users will have unlimited, long distance video conferencing and chat functionality without the additional cost of a VoIP or standard phone service.
