DigitalDeck Entertainment Network

Back in December of 2003 we heard about a company called DigitalDeck that supposedly had a product in the works that not only could stream digital media files from a networked PC, but could also pause live TV and stream the show to another room and let you pick-up where they left off. It almost sounded too good to be true, plus there weren’t any screen shots available so we dismissed it as possible vaporware. However, since then they have introduced and developed their DigitalDeck Entertainment Network product line which consists of the Advanced Media Manager software application, Send & Play Adapter, Play Adapter, and Management Unit (DVR unit for distributed content).
The DigitalDeck Entertainment Network is and environment of connected devices that you place throughout your home. Each device has its own purpose and cannot work without the others. Probably the most impressive device of the bunch is the Send & Play Adapter that connects up to four A/V source devices (cable/satellite TV set-top, DVD player, TiVo, etc.) and lets you control them via the DigitalDeck Unified Remote Control that will give you access to all the devices and content (live TV from the cable box, pre-recorded shows from the DVR, digital media from the PC, etc.) from any room in the house where you have Play Adapters (their media extender) set up.
