Casio XFER XF-1000 Portable Wi-Fi TV

Casio XFER XF-1000

Not to be left behind by Sony, Casio next month will be releasing the Casio XFER XF-1000 Wi-Fi TV — suggested retail price of 170,000 Yen (about $1,500) . Similar to Sony’s LocationFree TV the XF-1000 can stream broadcast and premium television via a separate tuner base station, but uses the slower 802.11b (as opposed to 802.11a/g like the LocationFree TV unit) wireless protocol and offers no Internet capabilities. Casio also opted to skip the a touch screen interface and went with an RF remote for basic television functions and controls instead.

Feature Highlights:
Waterproof enclosure and remote
10-inch 640×480 TFT LCD
3 to 4 hour battery life (Recharges in 3.5 hours)
Built-in speakers with mini headphone jack
Built-in stand and wall mount accesories
Dimensions: width 14.4″, depth 2″, height 8.5″
Weight: 5.4 lbs
