PlayerPal – WMP 9 Remote Software Application

PlayerPal 1.1Recently we have come across a variety of PocketPC remote control software apps for Windows Media Player, but PlayerPal puts a new spin on accessing your PC’s music files remotely. PlayerPal version 1.1 (free edition) allows any Web enabled device on a home network (PC/PocketPC/Palm/Smartphone/etc.) to manage music via a Web browser interface. In other words, no device specific software is required to use PlayerPal. Just install PlayerPal on a Windows XP Professional or Windows Media Center Edition PC running Windows Media Player 9 and that’s it!

Key PlayerPal features & benefits:
Use a Google-like interface to search your music collection
Search by artist, year, genre, and album title
View and manage the current playlist
Refine your search results by year and genre
Add albums and tracks to your playlist on the fly

While the current version is free, PlayerPal is working on a new version (price TBD), due to ship in June, that will include additional features like auto-playlists, radio, ratings, and dynamic Amazon links.
