Sharp AQUOS LC-15L1U-S Wireless TV Reviewed
Newsday columnist, Stephen Williams, got a chance to play with the new Sharp AQUOS LC-15L1U-S Wireless TV. An innovative product (at least in concept) that connects all your video sources (TV, DVD, VCR) to a “Smart Link” Wi-Fi transmitter adapter which wirelessly streams the digital signal to an AQUOS TV, up to 50 feet away, anywhere in the home. Unfortunately, the review pointed out a series of problems that plague the AQUOS. Problems include: reception issues (inherit to 802.11b Wi-Fi) when moving the TV around the house, minimal battery life (when viewing in “Normal” brightness mode), display not optimized for outdoor settings, and a little too pricey for a 15-inch LCD with a few extra bells and whistles.
