New Details: Sony Air Board – Wireless Touch Panel


Sony Air BoardAkibaLive reports that the Sony Air Board will be launching this month in Japan. For those unfamilar, the Sony Air Board is a multipurpose wireless touch panel device that can stream TV, digital media files from a PC, and surf the internet. The Air Board comes with a 800×600 TFT LCD color display, wireless 801.11a/b/g, and an internal lithium ion battery that will last a maximum life of 2-3 hours with low brightness settings and 100 minutes or more with high brightness. “The display panel also has a Memorystick slot and is capable of displaying still pictures as well as movies. The Air Board is compatible with Sony’s PEGA-VR100K.

The external size of the display panel is 365×31x240mm and weighs 2.4kb with the battery. The display has the following built-in ports: composite input x 1, analog input x 1, headphone jack x 1, USB x 1, ethernet port x 1 and Memorystick port x 1 as mentioned above. It will be possible to connect an external USB keyboard to the display. The display also comes with 2 built-in speakers.”

No word yet on the price or when it will be available in the states.
