According to Tech & Gadget blog AkibaLive.com, “iRiver will release two new AV players with built in hard drives, the PMC-100 and the PMP-100. Both will go on sale sometime between April and May of this year. The PMC-100 is a Microsoft Portable AV Player sporting Microsoft’s newest OS release called Windows Portable Media Center (Windows PMC). It comes with a built-in 20GB hard drive and 3.5 inch TFT LCD color display.
The PMC-100 has a USB 2.0 interface that allows one to connect to a computer at high speeds and transfer AV content to and from the computer. The PMC-100 plays MP3, WMV and MPEG-4 formats and can also display JPEG files. When using an external mic, voice recording is also possible. The unit comes with an internal lithium ion rechargeable battery with a maximum capacity of 5 hours of playback time.
The PMP-100 also comes with a 3.5 inch TFT LCD color display. It supports MP3,WMA, DivX, and MPEG-2/MPEG-4 formats. There are two different sub models available, a 20GB version and a 40GB version.
The PMP-100 can also playback JPEG files and has built-in USB OTG (USB On-The-Go) capabilities. This means that you can connect your digital camera to the PMP-100 and view the pictures you’ve just taken on a larger screen. The PMP-100 also comes with 10 built-in games. Grips are built-in to the design of the unit to make it easier to handle. The PMP-100 also uses a USB 2.0 interface.”
